Robert Palumbo

I live with my wife, Marilyn, in King of Prussia, PA best know for the 2nd largest mall in the United States. We have been married for 52 years and we are lovers and best friends, as the song goes. We have two daughters, five grand children (three girls and two boys) and a great grandson who will be two years old soon.  I am a recently retired pastor after 45 years of serving churches in Indiana, Colorado, Massachusetts and since 1992 in Pennsylvania.

I am a self taught artist, though I have taken some classes recently. As a child I would draw constantly, create my own comic books, mosty Flintstones characters, and draw pencil or charcoal portraits of famous personalities of the 60s (the Beatles, JFK, RFK). I also liked to draw my father's profile when he wasn't watching. My mother painted, I have a brother who paints, my dad entertained me often by drawing funny characatures. So the DNA for art is in the family.

Back in the early 90s I began copying paintings with oil by Claude Monet to teach myself impressionism. I have always been drawn to the impressionist style and whenever I go to a museum the Impressionist areas are where I will spend most of my time. I have several Monet Reproductions that hang on the walls of our home along with many of my original paintings.

By the late 90s my work with the church didn't leave much time to paint, but by 2013 I again began to devote myself to the canvas. Now that I am retired I have more time to spend in my studio and I am finding, as any artist knows, the more I paint the more I learn. In 2017 I began experimenting with plein air and a few of my present work reflects those efforts.

I enjoy viewing the works of the master impressionists and find myself particularly drawn to the paintings of today’s impressionists artists. I learn a lot from examining the art work found on DailyPaintWorks, Instagram and the websites of artists and hope you enjoy my work.
